Kelly Palmer
Director of Operation

Mrs. Kelly has worked in childcare off and on for the past 20 years. She has been with Stonebriar Academy for nearly 9 years. Mrs. Kelly earned a bachelor’s degree in Design from The Art Institute of Dallas, but soon decided to change gears to be closer to her own children.

She started as an infant teacher, and has since found the opportunity to work with all age groups. Her favorite group is the Toddlers, and because of her creativity, experience and knowledge with this age group, she now writes the curriculum for our Toddler program.

Mrs. Kelly has 3 sons of her own ranging from age 19 to 12. Her 19 year old, Colton, is attending college  in Spring Field Missouri, Corbin is 17 and keeps her busy attending gymnastics meets, and the youngest, Conner 12 loves to play football.

Mrs. Kelly wear’s several hats here at Stonebriar Academy. When she is not writing curriculum or helping in a classroom, you will see her up front as one of the 2 Directors seeing to the needs of the Children, Parents and staff!

Shannon Gonzalez
Director

Shannon Gonzalez has over 20 years experience working with children in child care and in public school. She received a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas Woman’s University with a specialization in Early Childhood Education.  She is certified to teach EC-6th grade. After teaching Pre-Kindergarten in the public schools for years, Shannon went back to school and obtained her M.Ed. in Educational Administration from Dallas Baptist University . 

After having her own child she decided to go back into the child care field.  She joined Stonebriar Academy as a Pre-K teacher.  After teaching for a few years she decided to get her Director’s Certificate and is now one of the Directors.

Her administrative work in other childcare facilities has seasoned her experience and professionalism is always noticed when working with her. Her bubbly personality and unmatched awareness allows for nothing in our school to go unnoticed.

Jan Sims
Receptionist

 

Ms. Jan is our receptionist here at Stonebriar. She loves greeting and visiting with our parents. When Ms. Jan is not up front, she is in one of the classrooms assisting teachers and playing with the children. Loving and caring for children comes easy for Ms. Jan, since she is the very proud grandmother of two toddlers.

While raising her two sons, she substituted in the Plano ISD before going on full time. Her love of photography eventually sent her into the photography business and she photographed children for 10 years. Many of our parents have been bombarded with stories and pictures from this proud grandmother.
